Michael Parent
Michael Parent is a Partner at Updata Advisors, having joined the firm as an Associate in 1995. He leads the firm's commercial IT services practice. Mr. Parent has managed and closed more than 40 M&A transactions at Updata, including the acquisition of Firstlogic by Business Objects, the acquisition of Tesseract by HALO Technology Holdings, the acquisition of netNumina by Keane, the purchase of Printing for Systems by Metavante and the purchase of ECS Integrated Technology Solutions by Computer Sciences Corporation.
Mr. Parent began his career as an Associate at Chemical Bank New York (now JP Morgan), where he managed financings and related transactions for the financial institutions group. After completing his M.B.A. in 1993, Mr. Parent worked with the founders of a start-up bank in Poland on a number of projects, including the bank's successful IPO, as well as establishment of credit policies and a broker/dealer subsidiary. This work was performed on a volunteer basis under the auspices of the MBA Enterprise Corps.
Mr. Parent earned a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has completed graduate course work at Groupe H.E.C. School of Management in France.
