Bradford Networks Ends Fiscal Year with Expanded Customer Base, Jump in Revenue, Continued Recognition as Industry Leader

Bradford Solutions Secure Networks, Automate Security Processes and Speed Compliance

Bradford Networks announced today that it finished FY2009 with a record number of new customers, extraordinary revenue growth and additional recognition from major industry analysts and publications for its innovative network security solutions.

Expansion of Customer Base into New Markets

In its fiscal year ended June 30, 2009, Bradford added over 100 new customers throughout the world, expanding the company’s reach into commercial markets and important verticals.  Bradford won new accounts in finance, healthcare, entertainment, state/municipal government and other key verticals, while continuing its leadership in providing network security solutions for educational institutions.

Customers utilized Bradford solutions to identify every user and device on their networks, validate security posture, notify users through automated alerts and messages, remediate devices, and dynamically enforce security policy.  Additionally, customers chose Bradford for its ability to enable compliance with key regulatory standards, including PCI, HIPAA, GBLA, SOX and others.

“The new customer growth we’ve experienced is exceptional, notably our key wins in commercial markets and target verticals, outside our traditional education base”, said Gregg Bjork, Bradford’s CEO.  “We’re also pleased to see customers recognizing the value of using Bradford to meet their regulatory compliance requirements in areas such as credit card processing, healthcare privacy and government security.  Companies facing penalties from the results of their compliance assessments are using our solution to correct course quickly.”

Counted among Bradford’s new customers in North America are New York Daily News, Susquehanna Health, Union Hospital Health Group, University of the Pacific and Western Michigan University.

“We’ve recently completed our first phase of implementation and we have already felt its impact”, said Mark Watson, Administrative Director, Network Services/Telecommunications at Susquehanna Health.  “By providing visibility into who and what is on our network, in real-time, Bradford has given our IT staff tremendous control over our environment.  We have needed a solution with this capability for many years – and it is finally here.  We look forward to the next phase of our project and utilizing Bradford’s powerful security policy enforcement features.”

Internationally, St Anne’s College, University of Oxford (UK), Universidad Del Valle (Colombia), and Open University (UK) are among many new customers in higher education.  Municipalities relying on Bradford include Solihull Municipal Borough Council (UK) and Kvam Municipality (Norway).

Revenue Growth in a Tough Economy

Despite the decline in IT and network technology spending, Bradford ended its fiscal year well ahead of last year’s sales numbers, up 48% over the same period in 2008.  “Our education market dominance continues, with endorsements by prominent colleges and universities worldwide”, said Tim Evans, Bradford’s VP of Sales.  “More significantly, commercial revenues for FY2009 were more than three times those in FY2008, as Bradford continues to diversify its customer base.”

Leadership Team Deepened to Accelerate Growth

The addition of industry veteran Gregg Bjork as Bradford’s CEO better enables Bradford to manage its continued rapid growth and further solidify its leadership in the network security market.  The company has also added Rob Scott, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at HP ProCurve Networking, as a new independent board member.  Both Gregg and Rob have added valuable management depth to assure Bradford’s long-term success.
