Cross-Section of Industry Leaders Illustrates ROI of User Workspace Management

RES Software, the leading provider of User Workspace Management software, today announced the addition of several key customers to its list of more than 2,500 customers worldwide. These organizations – representing a cross-section of industries including Education, Health-care, Government, and Financial Services – have selected RES Software to help them better manage and drive value from their increasingly complex desktop environments, which now include traditional desktops as well as thin clients and virtual desktop deployments.

Some of the noteworthy customers that signed on with the company in the first half of 2009 include:

– Oxford County Council, Oxford, UK
– Norway PDMT (Norwegian Police), Norway
– France Grand Moule, France
– Great Western Life, US
– Inseec, Paris, France
– ROC de Leijgraaf, Eindhoven, The Netherlands
– Eurofins, Denmark
– Scania, Sweden
– ING Insurance, The Netherlands

“In the face of a very tight market for IT budgets, customers are recognizing the value and savings they can generate through RES Software solutions,” commented Hans Middelburg, RES Software chief executive officer Middelburg cited recent analyst reports that estimate the cost of purchasing an enterprise desktop PC as $1,200, but the four year total cost of ownership (TCO) as much as $5,867 per year (Gartner, 2009). “By providing an easy to manage, standard and compliant corporate desktop, with all of the personal attributes end users expect, RES Software is helping our customers drive significant ROI.”

Workspace Management software enables an enterprise to centrally manage an end user’s “personal” workspace – the unique combination of personal desktop settings, security, and administrative profile – separately from the user’s underlying applications, systems software, and hardware. This greatly simplifies IT administration, ensures compliance, and saves money.

An example of that ROI is listed above, ROC de Leijgraaf, a Dutch educational services provider of vocational and adult education based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. This organization supports a rich portfolio of study and training needs for than 8,000 domestic and foreign students. Jos Vossen, the head of IT at ROC de Leijgraaf, commented, “We’ve investigated several products, and also checked with other educational centers what had been the best product for them. RES PowerFuse turned out to be the only product that could meet all of our demands.”
