John Burton

John Burton is a co-founder of Updata and served as General Partner for over 20 years until 2013, when he became Chairman and CEO of Nintex, an Updata Partners portfolio company. John has several decades of senior software company leadership and operating experience, including founding a successful venture-backed company, BST, Inc., and serving as CEO of publicly traded LEGENT Corporation which grew from $100M to $600M in revenue during his tenure.  He has served on dozens of public and private Boards of Directors, been instrumental in more than 60 mergers, acquisitions, and liquidity events, with transaction values in the multi-billions.  John provides strategic guidance in the areas of growth, GTM, operating matters, and enterprise value creation to our portfolio companies.
